It’s the school holidays again, and while children usually like to rest for the first few days, they will eventually start feeling slightly restless.

But times are tough, with the cost of living showing no signs of easing.

That means it’s all about free and affordable activities to keep kids entertained these holidays. Here are some suggestions from around the country.

Mighty Minibeasts Insect Workshop

Held at the Pine Rivers Heritage Museum, this creepy workshop features bees, butterflies, and spiders!

Pelicans like to eat fresh fish. To feed the local pelicans, head to Ian Dipple Lagoon in Labrador. It starts at 1:30 p.m., and parking is free for two hours.

The Firelight Festival runs from July 1 to 3 in Docklands and includes fire pits, light shows, music, and various delicious food and snacks.
